My name is Donnell Fassler and I am the proud Library Media Assistant at Meadows School.
I have been employed with Franklin-McKinley School District for over 30+ years and have held many positions during these 30+ years. I spent 20 years at J.W. Fair (now Bridges Academy) as a Noon Duty, In-School Suspension Para, Computer Lab Para, School Attendance Clerk and Library Media Assistant.
In my career I have had the opportunity to work at Franklin, Hellyer, J.W. Fair Middle, McKinley, Meadows, Santee, Shirakawa, Stonegate and Sylvandale in the Year Round, Traditional and Extended School Year calendar programs. I’ve experienced it all!
Although I do not live in Franklin-McKinley School District, I have participated in many committees as a parent, employee and union leader to make things better for the students and families of Franklin-McKinley. Hours upon hours of school board meeting just to be an informed employee and union leader.
I have been fortunate during my career in Franklin-McKinley to have worked with many talented people. I have been fortunate to take away life lessons and wisdom from many of the management, certificated and classified staff. I held the position of president, secretary and chapter reporter of the classified bargaining unit (CSEA/California School Employees Association). I just finished serving as president for over 13 years.
I am married and have 2 daughters, 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Both of my daughters and 3 of my grandchildren have attended schools in Franklin-McKinley. I love soccer, bowling, NASCAR and being outdoors!
I am lucky to be employed in Franklin-McKinley for over half of my adult life.
